Session Types
Session Types define what clients can book: the name, length, price, format, and preparation details.

1. Creating a session type
Click New Session Type and complete:
- Session Name
- Slug (URL identifier)
- Description (up to 300 characters)
- Duration
- Preparation Guidelines
- Additional Instructions
- Default Session: makes this the practitioner’s default booking option.
- Active: inactive session types are hidden from booking.
Payment
- Price: the session price in your organisation’s currency.
- Pay at Session: allows clients to book without paying online and settle payment in person.
- Maximum Recurring Months: limits how far ahead a recurring booking can run, where recurring bookings are offered.
Session format
Choose at least one format:
- In-person Session: the session happens at your location. Enter a Physical Location.
- Offer House Calls: the client can choose a session at their address. The client must provide an address when booking.
- Travel Fee: optional fee added for house calls.
- Virtual Session: the session is hosted online using your connected meeting provider.
At least one format must be selected.
2. Visibility and booking links
- Active session types appear in the booking flow.
- Default Session is preselected where a default is needed.
- Each session type has a slug, used in booking links such as
/schedule/:practitioner_slug/:session_type_slug.
Set the practitioner’s booking slug on the Practitioners page.
3. House calls
When a session type offers house calls, clients choose between your location and their location. House-call bookings require the client’s address and may include the configured travel fee.
You can review the location and travel details from the booking page.
4. Troubleshooting
A session type is not visible. Check that it is Active and that the practitioner profile is active.
Clients cannot choose a format. Confirm at least one of In-person Session or Virtual Session is selected.
A house-call booking has no address. House calls require the client address. Ask the client to update the booking or add the address from the booking detail page.
A booking link stopped working. The session type or practitioner slug may have changed. Copy the current link from the booking flow or practitioner profile.
A travel fee is the wrong amount. Travel fees use the organisation’s currency. Check the fee on the session type and any member discount.
